This year, STONC celebrates its15th summer in New Canaan with a production of Cole Porter's Broadway hit musical comedy “Kiss Me, Kate” on its main stage at Waveny Park as well as a free, limited-run performance of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” in downtown New Canaan’s Christine’s Park, in conjunction with the New Canaan Library.

Founded in 2004 by Ed and Melody Libonati, STONC has helped raise the cultural profile of New Canaan with its award winning musicals, young family theatre and year-round education programs. Roughly 70% of STONC’s summer audience comes from outside New Canaan, making it one of the town’s largest attractions and an economic engine for New Canaan during the summer months.

“We are proud to be in the company of The Glass House, Grace Farms and the Silvermine Arts Council in making New Canaan a significant arts and culture destination in the tri-state area,” said Ed Libonati, executive producer of the Summer Theatre of New Canaan.

The 2018 main stage production at Waveny will be Cole Porter’s iconic Broadway hit musical, “Kiss Me, Kate,” featuring New York pro actors Tiffin Borelli, Tim Falter, David Sattler and Fairfield actress Rachel Maclsaac.

Performances will begin June 28 and run Thursday to Sunday through July 29.

New this summer, STONC will be presenting free professional theatre in downtown New Canaan’s Christine’s Park featuring weekend performances of the hit comedy “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)”, in association with the New Canaan Library. Three comic actors weave their way through all 37 Shakespeare plays in 97 minutes in an irreverent, fast-paced performance that will leave audiences breathless and helpless with laughter. The Shakespeare performances will run on Saturdays and Sundays from July 15- through July 29.

On weekends this summer, STONC will feature three Theatre for Young Audience shows including a series premiereof a newly commissioned production of “Peter Pan," created by the Chicago creative team Bros Do Prose. This new adaptation of the Peter Pan story features two actors who play all 20 roles. Other TYA shows include a musical version of Roald Dahl's “James and the Giant Peach” and the new clowning mime show “Balloonacy.”
